Can I control AI course depth and difficulty?
Yes. When generating a course, choose a depth — overview, standard, or comprehensive — and a difficulty level — beginner, intermediate, or advanced — and Cognitivv builds the course to match. From there, review the generated outline and refine it further by chatting with the built-in AI Consultant before publishing.
How it works in Cognitivv
- Pick a topic or a document. Same starting point as any Cognitivv course — a topic, or an uploaded PDF, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, or slide deck.
- Choose depth and difficulty. Set the course to overview, standard, or comprehensive depth, and beginner, intermediate, or advanced difficulty, before generating.
- Cognitivv builds to that spec. The generated modules, lessons, and assessments match the depth and difficulty chosen.
- Review the outline. Preview the AI-generated structure and edit it before committing.
- Refine by chatting with the AI Consultant. Adjust tone, depth, or content further through conversation, not a blank editor.
What it doesn't do
Depth and difficulty are set for the course as a whole at generation time — three depth tiers and three difficulty levels, not a continuous slider or a per-module setting. Beyond that, adjustments happen through outline review and the AI Consultant conversation, not a separate settings panel.
